To help spread the health and wellness benefits of yoga, The Homestead is hosting free yoga classes in celebration of Yoga Day USA.  In exchange for the free class, The Homestead will accept monetary donations to benefit ShareCare of Leelanau.  ShareCare is a Leelanau County based organization that promotes the independence and well being of seniors by providing convenient access to services and programs that help them remain in their own homes - living as independently as possible, for as long as possible.

Classes are being offered Saturday, January 23rd at 9am, 11am and 3:30pm at New Leaf Fitness Center.  Space is limited.  Please call 231.334.5160 to register.

Join us for a fun-filled Snowshoe Photo Scavenger Hunt.  You'll enjoy a 2-mile trek from the resort's Village through the woods, over the Crystal River and back with snacks and beverages along the way.  Bring your digital camera...you'll snap shots of things along the way that are on the scavenger hunt list.  You'll leave with a goodie bag and a day full of memories.

Local entertainer Andre Villoch joins us at Beppi's, Saturday, January 30th for an exclusive CD release party for his live CD "Live at the Wah".  The party begin at 7pm with drink and food specials.  You'll have an opportunity to meet Andre and purchase cd's!

200 Hour Classic Certification

Union/Yoga 200 Hour Classic Teacher Certification is a 28-day Intensive, based on the 8 "limbs" of yoga, with an emphasis on therapeutic applications of asana and pranayama, as related to the Tantic chakra system.

The course will benefit anyone desiring personal growth and in-depth experiential revelation of yoga, whether seeking a teaching career or not.

Celebrate the 2010 Winter Olympics with special Nastar racing from 2pm to 4pm.  $10 per person for unlimited runs.

An art and wine event held at The Homestead's Mountain Flowers Lodge as a kick-off to the Leelanau Peninsula Vintner's Association event, Taste the Passion.  Art will be on display for viewing and purchase from several local artists.  Entrance fee of $20 per person includes tickets for two glasses of wine and food from multiple food stations.  Additional wine tickets are available for purchase ($4/ticket or 3 tickets for $10).  6pm to  8pm.
