Snowboarding Ability Levels
All snowboarding students will learn skills necessary to help raise their level of ability while also learning safety techniques. The goal is for each student to reach a level of proficiency before moving to the next level.
Snowboarders may be asked to demonstrate a controlled stop before using any chairlift.

Yellow |
Students at this level demonstrate the ability to turn in both directions and perform controlled stops. They have shown their ability to use the Magic Carpet© and Pony Tow safely and are allowed to use the Magic Carpet© and Pony Tow ONLY. |
| Level 1: Beginner |
Green |
Students at this level demonstrate the ability to use a controlled stops and are able to use the Magic Carpet© and Pony Tow safely. They are allowed to use those lifts and Chairlift A and to ski Lambs Quarters and Sweet Cicely ONLY. |
| Level 2: Intermediate |
Blue |
Students at this level demonstrate the ability to use controlled, linked heel and toe side turns and stops on BLACK trails. They are allowed to use all chairlifts and to board on GREEN, BLUE and BLACK trails. |
| Level 3: Advanced |
Black |
Students at this level demonstrate the ability to use controlled, open parallel for linked turns on BLACK trails. They are allowed to use all chairlifts and to ski on GREEN, BLUE and BLACK trails. |
| Terrain Park |
Orange |
Students at this level have earned a Level 3 sticker and have demonstrated their commitment to the safe use of terrain park features and their knowledge of terrain park etiquette. |
