Adjoining The Homestead Trail Map

Some cross country skiers choose the trails that start at the resort and wind through the dense forests and open meadows within the adjoining Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, a unit of the National Park Service. It is common for them to pause to watch the wildlife or to savor the views of Lake Michigan and of the historic structures that stand as silent sentinels attesting to earlier times.
