The Homestead Launches New Website
The Homestead is proud to announce the launch of its new website. “We really went for a new look from the ground up,” says Jamie Jewell, the resort’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. The overhaul focuses on putting communication with our guests first, she added: “We did a lot of research, and a lot of thinking, and tried to figure out how we could best tell the story of our property, and the area, in this format.” It was especially challenging because the site must appeal both to visitors who have never heard of the property before, and those who have been coming back for years and years.
The result? A website that’s adaptable, dynamic, and responsive. The Homestead chose to partner with Propeller Media Works, a Vermont-based firm with more than 25 years of experience in web development, to create the site. In addition to building sites for a wide array of hotels and resorts, Propeller has been at the forefront of the emerging issue of ADA Compliance in web development and design. “We wanted our site to be like our property– welcoming to all guests,” said resort President, Robert Kuras.
The new site features a variety of panels and different interface views custom designed to help the resort make sure that basic information like operating hours and telephone numbers is easily accessible, while also communicating about upcoming events and special offers effectively. Each element is also optimized for use with screen readers and other assistive technologies. “All in all,” Jewell says, “we think the new site is going to welcome visitors time and again.”
